It was inevitable. A young boy took a tumble off his bike on the gravel hill that leads down to The Sled from the other direction. That seems to be their hill of choice today. They get up a good speed and there is no gutter to negotiate (unlike the hill from the main gate). Exclamations of “too faaaaaaaaaaast!” and “Wheeeeeeeee!” are not uncommon. The braver kids start higher up the hill in the gravel section of the road. They go faster if they start higher. That’s where the young boy skidded and fell off his bike. There were tears but a passing adult came to his aid. The hill has been devoid of children ever since.
